Join us for a presentation hosted by Birds Canada this World Migratory Birds Day! Founded and managed by Birds Canada, Motus is an international collaborative research network that uses coordinated automated radio telemetry to facilitate research and education on the ecology and conservation of migratory animals. Birds Canada and partners established a number of Motus stations in the Fraser Delta to investigate both local and international movement of a range of birds, including Dunlin, American Robin, and Swainson’s Thrush. Connections that the birds make between Motus stations reveal much about how and when bird use habitats, and are helping bird conservation efforts worldwide.
